Porsche 911 Race Car

Some cars you have to explain. This one you just have to start.

It’s a 911 race car with a 3.6 liter air cooled flat six and 993 bodywork. Widebody, a proper wing, a full cage and nothing inside that doesn’t help it go faster. It’s loud in the way only an air cooled Porsche is loud, and it’s the car people walk across a paddock to look at.

For 2027 it’s the headline entry in the Drive Theory Racing program. It shares the season with our Evo 8.5, one car per weekend, across two NASA Time Trial rounds and three PCA weekends. Both wear number 250. Its time attack class gets confirmed after the dyno and weigh-in.

Before that it gets its livery. The concept is called Velocity Splash: racing yellow, signal red and black over the white car, a nod to the abstract Porsche Motorsport liveries of the 90s. You can see the renders in the build log below, and the real thing goes on before the February shakedown at Summit Point.
